Asuu press release

We have been duly informed that a purported rumour credited to ASUU National secretariat which stated that *"ASUU has instructed all its members and students to return to full academic activities next week"*, is in circulation.

Please this information is totally false. The information is surely a gimmick used by the insensitive government, other disoriented Nigerians and politically hungry individuals to cause confusion amongst ASUU members and Nigeria students.

A meeting was held between the Minister of Labour, Minister of Education and representative of ASUU yesterday, thursday 17th of August which lasted for about 7 hours. The meeting ended in a deadlock and there was no compromise on our demands. Talks with the relevant government agencies to resume next week.

Please disregard and dispel the rumour or any other information being circulated in the social media that all academic activities is to resume next week.

We have an appropriate channel of disseminating relevant information to our members all over Nigeria including the students. If in any doubt, please do visit asuu-ng.org or all channels tv news platform or any other credible news platform in the country.

Thank you.

Professor Biodun Ogunyemi,
ASUU President.
