NAUS inauguration: Meet your leaders

*NAUS Inaugurates New Leaders*

The National Association of University Students (NAUS), which represents the interest of students in universities, has sworn-in newly elected leaders of the association.

The inauguration ceremony which took place at the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Niger State, December 20th, 2017 was held just some weeks after the leaders were elected into various offices at a voting session at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo state.

NAUS is the association of all university students in Nigeria and diaspora. The body describes itself as the defender and protector of the rights of all Nigerian university students, wherever they are.

The event had in attendance personalities from various walks of life. Notably among the guests are those of the academia, politics and students’ unionism from across the entire states of the federation

The officials inaugurated into the NAUS Executive Council are Comrade Kasimu Abdullahi Idrisu, National President; Comrade Etuk Kester Proxy, Deputy National President; Comrade Shehu Ibrahim Muhammad, National Secretary General; Comrade Ogochukwu Isioma, Deputy National Secretary General; Comrade Damilola Amusa, National Treasurer; Comrade Jegede Abiodun Peter, National Publicity Secretary.

Others are Comrade Afolabi Timothy Obalola, National Vice President (South West); Comrade Friday Daniel, National Vice President (North Central); Comrade Marcus Alo, National Vice President (South South); Comrade Sanusi Mailafiya, National Vice President (North West); Comrade Abubakar Abdullahi Yusuf, National Vice President (North East); Comrade Benson Ekemeiren Evelyn, National Director, Gender & Campus Affairs; Comrade Ismail Abdullahi, Director, Sport & Social Duties; Comrade Adekunle Oluwatayo, National Ex-officio I; Comrade Aminu Tijani Abubakar, National Ex-officio II.

Members of the Senate are Comrade Falola Ahmed Stainless, Senate President; Comrade Abbas Isah Imam, Deputy Senate President and Comrade, Senate Clerk.

The outgoing President, Comrade Adekunle Jonathan Olusegun (Successman), while handing over to the new leadership led by Comrade Kasimu Abdullahi Idrisu, charged them to be of good conduct. He also thanked stakeholders and students for their support and cooperation while the erstwhile leadership held sway.
